I went to Yngwie Malmsteen’s Legendary weekend in Japan.
Ever since I was 18 and heard the guitar phrase from the radio promoting Alcatrazz’s Japan tour, I’ve been a fan, and from that time on, I’ve been captivated and deeply respectful not only of the brilliance of his guitar playing, but also of the genius worldview he expresses as a composer.
Yngwie has continued without slacking in his efforts for many years, always walking the path of exploration and evolution—
I bow my head to Yngwie, who embodies the words “More is More.”
And this time too, Yngwie showcased even more wonderfully evolved art that transcends the boundaries of metal and even classical music, and I’m filled with gratitude.
As everyone else has written, Yngwie invited us all into a wonderful world of emotion, as if a movie were beginning. Of course, his exceptional guitar technique exploded alongside his genius compositional ability and expressive power—Yngwie was like a “noble, beautiful blazing flame,” which I believe is the embodiment of “love.”

And at the Meet & Greet, I got a photo taken and an autograph. It was moving.
Yngwie was far more incredibly cool and beautiful in person than he appears in the media.
It was truly a mesmerizing kind of beauty.
That day, my heart was so full of emotion that I couldn’t find the words.
It was the most wonderful day of my life so far.
My thanks go to Yngwie, everyone in the orchestra, all the staff, and everyone involved.
